About us

Same moment. Different eyes.

Kenan and Caitlin are two Christchurch photographers brought together by curiosity, friendship and the belief that the best photographs begin with paying attention.

Kenan

From Namibia to Christchurch.

Kenan-John was born in Namibia and lived there for twenty-two years before moving to New Zealand in search of a new life and adventure. Christchurch became the base for his work, friendships and a growing habit of exploring with a camera close at hand.

His photography began with phone cameras, then a Canon 200D, a Canon SX70 HS from his grandad and a Sony ZV-E10 II for YouTube. He now shoots with a Canon R6 II and is drawn to people, events, animals, nature and the honest moments that appear once everyone feels comfortable.

Caitlin

Colour, connection and a good camera walk.

Caitlin shares Kenan’s enthusiasm for cameras and brings a Fujifilm X-T30 II along on their Christchurch walks. She has a particular eye for the character of Fujifilm colour and makes beautiful use of its film simulations.

Her full story will grow here in her own words. For now, the starting point is what already brings them together: conversation, curiosity and the pleasure of making photographs side by side.

Why two?

A fuller view, when the story calls for it.

01

Parallel moments

One photographer can follow the centre of the story while the other notices the reactions, details and quiet exchanges around it.

02

Different instincts

Two people notice light, expression and movement differently, giving the final gallery more variety without losing its sense of cohesion.

03

Coverage with purpose

Not every session needs two photographers. When it does, both perspectives are planned around the experience rather than added simply for volume.
